Speciications & Recommendations
The most commonly used materials for fabric labels are satin and taffeta. In this article, we will elaborate on the Taeta
materials, what types do we offer, what are the differences, what is the application and the specifications of this
material.
What is Taffeta? Teflon is a crisp smooth, woven fabric made of polyamide fibers with a special coating. Some of the
taeta materials have great surface smoothness, allowing a good detailed print visualisation. Being a more affordable
choice, taffeta labels are recommended for cases when the label will be disposed from the consumer. Widely used in
the textile industry as a budget choice for care labels, brand labels, and special instruction labels.
For label usage, the taffeta we offer is classified as follows:
- White Nylon Taffeta – Lightweight, looking like paper, opaque
- White Nylon Taffeta no optical brighteners – Lightweight, looking like paper, off white, opaque
- White Polyester Taffeta – Oeko-tex® 100 Class 1 – Lightweight, looking like thin fabric, off white, semi opaque, suitable
for sensitive skin - Black Polyester Taffeta – Oeko-tex® 100 Class 2 – black base taffeta used for different design decisions, printed on with
white or other contrasting colours - White Nylon Taffeta – Oeko-tex® 100 Class 1 – Lightweight, looking like paper, off white, opaque, suitable for sensitive
skin - White Nylon Taffeta Self-Adhesive – used for stickers, easy to peal off, stick on smooth and semi-smooth surfaces
- White Acetate Taffeta – Oeko-tex® 100 Class 1 – looking more like fabric, lightweight, semi opaque, suitable for
sensitive skin, softer, crease less.
